Here we are showing a Component Profile Cutout using our 60 watt Trotec Laser. We have used one of our 60 watt lasers to cut 6 mm MDF to the required shape, so that it can be tested in its application before being created in steel as a finished component.
Other materials we use for Commercial & Industrial profile cutouts are brass, aluminum, plastic, cardboard & acrylic which can be cut in conjunction with our Flat bed Rotary engraver. Note; A little information about Lasering. There are two main ways to utilize laser technology. One way is Laser Vector Cutting and the other is Laser Imaging.
Laser Vector Cutting is a process which utilizes a CO2 Laser System to cut a continuous path, or “vector”, that follows the outline or profile of a shape. This process is normally used to cut completely through materials such as wood, plastic, acrylic, etc. The other way is Laser Imaging, which is sometimes called laser engraving. It creates text, graphical, or photographic images into the surface of suitable materials without cutting through. Although usually done as separate operations, Laser Vector Cutting and Laser Imaging can be combined to cut out and laser engrave a finished part all in one step.
